Dr Chris Booth

Chris is experienced in treating a wide range of conditions, and over many years of practising TCM has developed particular interests in the areas of chronic fatigue and persistent skin conditions (particularly eczema, acne and psoriasis).

One of his passions, which he spends a lot of time pursuing, is looking to the classical texts of Chinese medicine for answers to stubborn, complex, and often obscure health issues.

In 2014, Chris moved from Sydney to Orange and now services much of the Central West including Blayney, Canowindra, Cowra, Forbes, Mudgee, Oberon and Parkes from clinics in central Orange and also Bathurst.

Classical Chinese Medicine

Since 2010, Chris has been increasingly directing the focus of his practice from traditional Chinese medicine towards classical Chinese medicine of the type found in seminal texts of the Han dynasty era.

Chris’ passion lies in the study and practise of the Chinese herbal medicine of the Shang Han Lun and Jin Gui Yao Lue classical texts of that time period. He has been doing in-depth studies of this “cold damage” school intensively in recent years, and now practises exclusively in this herbal medicine style.

Herb Quality

Chris was the founding director of The Herb Booth in Sydney, Australia’s first TGA quality-assured Chinese herbal medicine dispensary. He parted ways with this business in 2017 to focus entirely on clinical practice.

All prescriptions supplied by Chris to his patients are prepared in the on-site dispensary at his Orange clinic – East West Clinic, using the highest quality ingredients.

Chris is a registered acupuncturist, herbalist and Chinese herbal dispenser with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (part of AHPRA). In addition to this, he is an active member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).
